Founders’ Background- Evans and Mary’s story

Evans is a primary care physician with over 20 years of experience, and I am a former dietician and college runner (and lover of my large Stanley that I sip out of all day…..). The inspiration for N-2 water came from both our professional backgrounds and our personal lives. Our value for optimal health and wellness, busy and active lifestyles, and desire to keep ourselves and teen-age kids hydrated was the catalyst for us to create N-2 water.

The Need for N-2 water

In his daily practice, Evans began to notice a few concerning trends in his patients’ dietary intakes. The first was a steady reduction of dairy consumption, especially in women. The second was the use of water softeners and purification processes in our suburban homes (Evans grew up in a rural community and their family sourced all their water from a mineral-rich well). The water softening process, while needed for water purity (and clean and clear dishes!), often strips essential minerals from the water, removing a once easy dietary source. Concerned for his patients’ (and family’s) well-being, Evans began to research the effects of lower calcium and magnesium intakes on health and wellness. The more he studied, the more he realized how important adequate intake of these minerals are to our bodies, together. 

The Birth of an Idea

So while Evans was processing these concerns, each night he could come home, I would greet him with my large, oversized hydration station, Stanley, in hand. And one night he walked in with an idea… What if we added back into water those needed and essential minerals our bodies crave? Could we create a product that mimics hard water, nature’s original source of these minerals? What if we developed a great tasting, on-the-go mineral rich hydration mix that transforms water N-2 wellness?

Knowing the grass is always greener where you water it, we began to water this idea and got to work. Our hunt for the best source of highly bioavailable calcium and magnesium led us back to the sea. We found a calcified algae harvested off the coast of Iceland along with a bioactive magnesium complex sourced from Irish seawater and knew it was time to formulate our powder. Combining marine sourced minerals with oceanic sea salt, all natural stevia leaf, and citrus flavors together, we knew this would transform water N-2 wellness.
